We believe the planning application to build on the fields will be decided in early January and so, in order to pay for the specialist legal support we need to prepare for this meeting, we are upping our fundraising efforts.
There are many ways you can help us:
1. Attend a fundraising event. There are two taking place this weekend. A Christmas Coffee morning at Selwood Lodge on Saturday from 11am – 1pm and Carols at Packsaddle Park on Sunday from 2.30pm.
2. Could you host a fundraising event? We know December is a busy month but it’s lovely to have something to look forward to in January and February. Coffee mornings have been hugely successful but this could involve something else – maybe the children fancy doing a sponsored walk, get together with friends for cheese and wine, cook dinner in lieu of donations? Have you any other ideas – let us know and let’s see what else we can get in the diary.
3. Would you like to donate this Christmas instead of sending Christmas Cards? Or perhaps you’d like to donate in memory of a loved one?
4. You can donate directly to our bank account:
People For Packsaddle, Bank of Scotland, Sort code: 80-22-60, Account number: 24205069
5. Or you can donate via our GoFundMe page.
6. If you prefer not to use technology to move money around, we are of course happy to receive cheques or cash. Please let us know if you’d like to do this and we can arrange this with you.
7. Send us your ideas! Have you other ideas for fundraising? We have some other thoughts up our sleeves for Spring but let us know if you’ve any other brilliant ideas for raising money.
8. Finally, please keep the date of the next planning meeting free, in case the application is on the agenda – Tuesday, 9th January, 2024 2.00 pm in Shepton Mallet. Our aim is to see 200 of us of there – which is a BIG ask for a daytime meeting when so many of us work and have childcare responsibilities and so on. But let’s do our best to make this happen (more on this as soon as we have confirmation, of course.)
Thanks, as ever, for your continued support and efforts.
