This is what happens when a council wrongs its local community.

An enormous thank you to everyone who came along to our gathering at Packsaddle Community Fields today. It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages and who all use the fields for different reasons. And it was a lovely opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, the fields and the company.

The longer video clip at the end of this Instagram reel shows the local community standing along part of the permissive path that Somerset Council intend to close on Tuesday.

It was great to also be joined by Anna Sabine (our MP), Adam Boyden (Somerset Councillor), Martin Dimery (Somerset Councillor) and Mark Dorrington (Frome Town Councillor). Grateful as ever for all your support.

Might this be the last time we can all gather like this? Let’s see what happens next but we are doing all we can to make it clear that this is not a decision Somerset Council need to take. We will continue to do all we can to protect these fields and keep them for the local community to use as they have done for the last 50 years.
