In yet another twist to the tale, we’ve this morning been informed by Somerset Council that the LiveWest application will NOT now be considered on 5th November. Their email reads:
“….the Packsaddle Way application has had to be withdrawn from the agenda to allow for further review of the required S106 obligations and scheme viability.”
We are pleased that the Council has decided to pause and look again at the many serious issues we’ve raised in the last few weeks.
This is not a win for our campaign. The probability remains that the application will come to Committee eventually. We will let you know as soon as we hear more about this.
To get to this point has taken enormous effort from the People for Packsaddle committee, with countless hours of work and stress. And we know it’s stressful to local residents and supporters too. Thank you for everything you continue to do to support the campaign to save the fields.
What’s next?
This pause in proceedings means we need to ramp up our fundraising, remain in touch with each other, keep being positive. We will also be working hard to progress our alternative ‘Brighter Future’ vision for Packsaddle Community Fields.
Please can you help us by spreading the news that the application has been deferred from the meeting – especially to friends, family and neighbours who might not see our updates online.
As soon as we hear more, we will let you know. Many thanks.
