Another attempt at getting answers from Somerset Council

The fencing erected by Somerset Council to block access to the permissive path and the rest of the fields at Packsaddle

We are disappointed not to have received any response to our email to Councillor Mike Rigby, Lead Member for Economic Development Planning and Assets at Somerset Council, sent on 7th March. Our email contained some important questions regarding the decision to close Packsaddle Community Fields.

It is simply not acceptable for Somerset Council to ignore questions asked by us, on behalf of the community we represent – a community they are meant to represent too.

Given the failure of John Kulasek, Interim Head of Property and Chris Hall, Executive Director for Community, Place and Economy at Somerset Council, to answer some basic due diligence questions at last week’s Frome Town Council public meeting (giving responses like “I can neither confirm nor deny this”), we have today contacted Councillor Rigby again, this time with 3 very simple questions. We believe it is essential that these questions are now answered in order to provide some much needed transparency on the decision to fence off the fields, a decision which is looking increasingly questionable.
